Congressman Morgan Luttrell, representing Texas' 8th district, shared a series of tweets highlighting his legislative efforts and recognitions. Serving in Congress since 2023, Luttrell has been active in addressing border security and cybersecurity issues.
On February 6, 2025, Luttrell tweeted about the use of guerrilla warfare tactics at the U.S. border and emphasized the need for support from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). He announced legislation co-introduced with Rep. Lou Correa aimed at strengthening efforts to secure the border and combat cartels. "Guerrilla warfare tactics are being used at our border, and DHS needs all the support it can get."
The following day, on February 7, 2025, Luttrell acknowledged Dave Alexander for his contributions as Founding Director of Serve the Border. He praised Alexander's dedication to supporting Border Patrol agents, Texas Troopers, and National Guard members. "I spoke on the floor to recognize Dave Alexander... His team has gone above and beyond for Border Patrol..."
Later that day, Luttrell addressed the importance of enhancing cybersecurity capabilities within federal agencies. He introduced a bipartisan bill with Rep. Mike Turner to establish an on-the-job training program under DHS to equip federal employees with necessary cybersecurity skills. "We need a stronger, more prepared workforce to defend our nation from cyber threats."
