Rep. Dan Crenshaw, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 2nd district, has recently expressed his views on a Biden administration program aimed at providing legal migration avenues to immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. Crenshaw shared his opinions through a series of tweets on March 22, 2025.

In one tweet, Crenshaw commented on the impact of the program designed to reduce illegal immigration at the border by offering legal migration pathways: “The move will affect immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela who flew to the U.S. under a Biden administration program, known as CHNV, that was designed to reduce illegal immigration at the border by giving would-be migrants legal migration avenues.”

Another tweet addressed concerns over terminology used in media coverage related to this issue: "Well, let’s fix the headline. The term “legal status” is a loose one. The CBS story even says the quiet part out loud."

Crenshaw also highlighted enforcement priorities for arrests concerning certain migrants: “Officials say those prioritized for arrest will include migrants who have failed to apply for another immigration benefit like asylum or a green card.” He emphasized that these individuals had opportunities to pursue legal pathways but did not take them.
