Rep. Dan Crenshaw, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 2nd district, shared his views on various issues through a series of tweets on January 23 and 24, 2025. These tweets addressed topics such as the involvement of the United States in combating Mexican cartels and moral debates surrounding abortion.
On January 23, Rep. Crenshaw emphasized the need for collaboration between Mexico and the United States to combat cartel-related violence. He stated, "Mexico needs our help to take down the cartels. They have to want it, but we have to make sure they understand the stakes." He further highlighted that cartels are not solely a Mexican issue but also affect both sides of the border by driving violence and drug trafficking.
Later that day, Crenshaw addressed moral issues concerning abortion survivors' rights. He tweeted, "There are some moral issues that are so fundamental, so deeply rooted in the basic principles of humanity, that they shouldn't even be up for debate." He criticized Democrats in Congress for their stance on providing medical care to babies who survive attempted abortions.
On January 24, Crenshaw discussed abortion's divisive nature in America while advocating for pro-life arguments based on logic and common sense. He wrote, "Abortion is one of the most divisive issues in America, but the argument for being pro-life argument is based in common sense and logic." The tweet referenced a past discussion with Michael J. Knowles on his podcast "Hold These Truths."
