There were 56,195 white students enrolled in Montgomery County schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Montgomery County welcomed 127,974 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 43.9% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the county.

Among the 133 schools in Montgomery County, The Woodlands High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 2,382 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

“The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students…dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools…gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
