4.6% of Montgomery County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Montgomery County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.6% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 13,871 people out of the 607,999 living in Montgomery County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Montgomery County has remained fairly stable compared to the 4.6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Montgomery County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 290,339 people who had a job during that time, 592 were employed in the Armed Forces and 289,747 belonged to the civilian labor force.
