Harris County Commissioners and County Judge Lina Hidalgo recently approved the Small Business Recovery Fund (SBRF), a $30 million program designed to assist small businesses that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 and have been unable to secure financial assistance from other similar relief programs.
According to a baytownedf.org, qualifying businesses that have no more than 30 employees are eligible for a grant of up to $25,000 to recoup the costs of payroll, rent, accounts payable, and other business expenses. The focus of the SBRF is to assist Harris County small businesses that are the most vulnerable to the financial impacts of the pandemic.
The impact of this crisis on small businesses has been devastating. We can’t afford to lose a source of jobs, innovation and the enterprising spirit our region is known for," Hidalgo said according to the post. "These grants will help business owners stay afloat as Harris County continues to fight the COVID-19 crisis."
Applications are being accepted through July 22.
