CITY OF HOUSTON: Municipal Courts Department Temporarily Closed

City of Houston issued the following announcement on Feb  26.

The Herbert W. Gee Municipal Courthouse, located at 1400 Lubbock Street, will be temporarily closed beginning at 2:00PM, Thursday, February 27, 2020, and will reopen at 8:00AM, Friday, February 28, 2020, unless otherwise notified.

Individuals scheduled for court Thursday, February 27, 2020, 2PM - 9PM, must reset their case(s) in person at any of our six court locations beginning at 8:00AM, Friday, February 28, 2020 through 5:00PM, Friday, March 6, 2020.

The Municipal Courts Department offers several online options that are available as means to resolve court matters. Interested persons may visit www.houstontx.gov/courts/forms.html to download the form(s) needed to request a trial setting, request the Driving Safety Course (DSC) by mail, or to submit proof of compliance by mail. Payments for fines are accepted online at  www.houstontx.gov/courts/ticket_payments.html. Payments are also accepted via:

  • Western Union (code: Ticket Texas); or
  • US Mail (P.O. Box 4996, Houston, Texas 77210-4996).
The Herbert W. Gee Courthouse will resume normal hours of operation at 8:00AM, Friday, February 28, 2020, unless otherwise notified.
