Tom Oliverson, M.D., a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 130th district since 2017, shared several statements on his social media account on October 17, 2025. The posts addressed topics ranging from support for public figures to expressions of solidarity in political campaigns.
In his first post of the day, Oliverson expressed concern for the safety of Julie Straus and her family. He wrote, “Praying for Julie Straus, former First Lady of the Texas House, her husband @SpeakerStraus and her family. May God put a hedge of protection around her and may she be found quickly. #txlege” (October 17, 2025).
Later that evening, Oliverson publicly endorsed Mayes Middleton’s campaign for Attorney General in Texas. In his words: “Glad to stand with you in this campaign @mayes_middleton. You are the AG Texas needs! #txlege https://t.co/NWNSx8LTTM” (October 17, 2025).
He followed this endorsement with another post referencing scripture: “Darn right. Gen 9:6. #txlege https://t.co/GZ7esOORwY” (October 17, 2025).
Oliverson has served in the Texas State House since being elected in 2017 to represent District 130 after succeeding Allen Fletcher.
