Tom Oliverson, M.D., a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 130th district since 2017, has recently used his social media platform to comment on healthcare costs, legislative efforts against organ trafficking, and judicial accountability.
On March 19, 2026, Oliverson criticized statements regarding hospital-owned physician practices. He wrote: “This is the dumbest, most tone deaf, indefensible statement I have seen recently. We all know that hospital-owned physician practices are literally doubling or tripling the cost of going to see the doctor. A true case of ‘do as I say, not as I do.’ @HHSGov”.
The following day, March 20, Oliverson highlighted legislative action in Texas aimed at preventing organ trafficking. He stated: “Not in Texas, thanks to SB1040 by @LoisKolkhorst and myself. We will not fuel the stolen organ trade in Texas!”.
Later on March 20, Oliverson called for increased legislative attention to judicial liability within his party. He posted: “Judges liability should be a Legislative Priority for @TexasGOP! Let’s get it passed.”
Oliverson has served in the Texas State House since his election in 2017, succeeding Allen Fletcher as representative of District 130.
