Tom Oliverson, M.D., a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 130th district since 2017, has posted a series of statements on social media regarding recent developments in the Texas legislature.
On August 3, 2025, Oliverson expressed his support for Speaker Burrows and referenced past legislative experiences: “I enthusiastically support this message. Not our first rodeo either, having learned a lot from 2021. I am confident in Speaker @Burrows4TX’s leadership that ‘all options’ is a statement that should be taken very seriously by my colleagues! #txlege https://t.co/UMDXWRu9Zb”
Two days later, on August 5, Oliverson commented on the current situation compared to previous years: “This feels very different from 2021. Looking forward to seeing my D colleagues back in the chamber soon, whether they want to be or not! #txlege https://t.co/eHIr0yDcVS”
Later that same day, he announced an official action by House leadership: “Arrest warrant #1 signed yesterday by Speaker @Burrows4TX . #txlege https://t.co/Jz6aKna5FT”
Oliverson has served as state representative since succeeding Allen Fletcher in 2017. His recent posts highlight ongoing tensions within the Texas legislature and reference actions being taken under Speaker Burrows’ direction.
