Tom Oliverson, M.D., a Republican who has represented Texas’s 130th House district since 2017, expressed strong opinions on issues ranging from criminal justice to civil liability in a series of posts made between September 30 and October 1, 2025.
On September 30, Oliverson commented on a clemency case, stating: “When it quacks like a duck….Ashamed to say the clemency folks had my support momentarily, until I read the M.E. report. He deserves to die for what he did. Must read here by @realmitchlittle #txlege https://t.co/suaSbfVwtU”.
Later that day, he posted about an incident at a church: “At a “church” no less…one like the church in Sardis. Kudos to @ArminMizaniTX for intervening, innocence lost otherwise. #txlege Rev 3:1-6 https://t.co/hANBV9ycwV”.
On October 1, Oliverson addressed concerns over immunity for certain decision-makers: “Absolutely. They should be civilly liable for the harm they cause. No more immunity for reckless decision making. #txlege https://t.co/kFBcd42gzM”.
Oliverson began serving in the Texas State House after being elected in 2017, succeeding Allen Fletcher as representative of District 130.
