Tom Oliverson, M.D., a Republican who has represented Texas’s 130th House district since 2017, recently used his social media platform to address several topics including law enforcement, socialism, and human trafficking.
On January 9, 2026, Oliverson posted in recognition of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day: “Today is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. We honor the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve our communities.

Later that same day, he commented on political ideology in Texas: “I can definitively assert that socialism is NOT the future here in Texas. Maybe move your protest to California or New York. Not welcome here, we support ICE. https://t.co/zegN7yjbK2”.
On January 11, 2026—National Human Trafficking Awareness Day—Oliverson addressed efforts against trafficking: “On National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, we stand with the victims and commit to protecting the most vulnerable Texans.
