Wesley Hunt, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’s 38th District since 2023, recently shared his perspectives on various issues through a series of tweets. Born in Houston in 1981, Hunt continues to reside there while actively engaging with constituents and national matters.
On July 7, 2025, Hunt addressed the treatment of Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), expressing concern over their portrayal by certain political factions. He stated that “Customs and Border Patrol and ICE have become punching bags for the radical left and targets of escalating violence fueled by reckless rhetoric and false narratives.” He emphasized the importance of recognizing these agencies’ role in law enforcement, asserting that “These brave men and women uphold our laws and defend our borders.”
Later that day, Hunt praised the current administration for its approach to American workers. In his tweet from July 7, he remarked on a shift in policy focus under President Trump’s leadership: “Under this administration, the American workers are heard and appreciated!” He further noted that after years of perceived neglect, Americans were now prioritized: “Americans are finally being put first thanks to President Trump.”
Hunt also commented on a tragic natural disaster affecting Texas. On July 7, he reported that “91 lives have been tragically lost in the devastating Texas flood, according to DHS.” He acknowledged President Trump’s response through an Emergency Declaration aimed at mobilizing federal resources for relief efforts. Hunt expressed solidarity with those affected: “Our prayers remain with the victims, their families, and all responders.”
Hunt’s comments reflect his engagement with both local issues affecting Texans as well as broader national policies.
