Steve Toth, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 15th district since 2019, has recently voiced his frustration over property tax policy discussions in Texas through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On September 3, 2025, Toth expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing legislative session, stating: “Special Session has lots of talk about property tax relief but no action. None! Limiting property tax increases is not what I was sent here to do. They’re already too high. Lowering & eliminating property taxes is what’s been asked of us just as Florida is on track to do.”
The following day, September 4, he highlighted legislation aimed at ending property taxes and credited its development to Vance Ginn of the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF): “#EPT End Property Taxes @VanceGinn PhD of the @TPPF created and vetted this legislation that I’ve filed the last 3 Sessions. Property taxes will destroy the Texas Miracle.”
In another post dated September 6, Toth commented on internal legislative efforts by conservatives regarding procedural changes: “Every session, 20 or so conservatives put forth a rules change at the beginning of Session that if you can get 76 members to co author your bill that it can then automatically come to the Floor for a vote and every Session it gets voted down by 100% of the Democrats and a small”
Toth succeeded Mark Keough in representing Texas’s 15th House district after being elected in 2019.
