Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office posted several updates on social media in early August 2025, addressing recent executive actions by President Trump, incidents involving ICE agents, and recruitment efforts within the agency.
On August 1, 2025, the office wrote, “President Trump signs EO to increase tariffs for countries who have not made deals with the United States. Despite the nay-sayers President Trumps tariff policies brought in more than $27 billion according to June reports. Trust in Trump.”
Later that day, a separate post reported an incident in Colorado Springs: ” ICE AGENTS UNDER ATTACK: 2 Illegal Aliens attempt to ram their vehicle into ICE officials in Colorado Springs. A manhunt is now underway for these criminal aliens. This comes as attacks on ICE Agents exceeds 830%. This is disgusting.” The post highlighted an ongoing search for suspects and referenced a significant rise in attacks on ICE personnel.
On August 4, another update focused on law enforcement recruitment: “ICE agent recruitment is higher than ever. 78,000 Americans have applied to become agents. ICE continues to build strength so that it may continue to push this administration’s deportation mission. President Trump continues to fight for Americans.”
