Rep. Wesley Hunt’s press office published a series of posts on social media in early September 2025, focusing on President Trump’s recent actions against drug cartels and crime in major U.S. cities.
On September 2, the account posted: “President Trump increases the crackdown on the cartels. Trump announces U.S. military strike on Venezuelan drug boat. Stopping the flow of illegal drugs into this country is a top priority for the current administration. Promises kept.”
The following day, another post addressed media coverage of National Guard deployments: “MSNBC just admitted the double standard: if a Democrat like Kathy Hochul deployed the National Guard, the media would cheer. But because it’s President Trump protecting Americans from chaos in crime-ridden liberal cities, Democrats are furious. Truth hurts.” This tweet was published on September 3.
Later that same day, Rep. Hunt’s office commented on federal intervention in Chicago: “As Chicago officials blame crime on guns trafficked from red states, President Trump lets them know ‘we’re going in.’ Ironically despite all the Dems pushback Chicagoans welcome anything that will help decrease crime.”
Wesley Hunt has served as a member of Congress representing Texas’s 38th District since 2023 and resides in Houston, Texas. He won his seat by defeating Duncan Klussmann in 2022 and Melissa McDonough in 2024, securing over 60% of votes in both elections.
