Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office, representing Texas’s 38th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, posted a series of statements on social media reflecting on historical moments and current issues related to national security and immigration policy.
On July 15, 2025, the account commemorated a significant moment in American sports history, stating, “In 1980, the United States forever etched its name in Olympic history, stunning the world by defeating the four-time defending gold medal champions—the Soviet Union—at the XIII Olympic Winter Games. The ‘Miracle on Ice’ stands as a testament to the power of the American spirit.”
The following day, July 16, 2025, attention shifted to border security policies. The account questioned President Biden’s previous remarks about needing congressional support for border measures: “Remember when Biden said he couldn’t do anything to secure the border without help from Congress? President Trump managed to hit historic low border encounters within 6 months of taking office—with only 6,072 border encounters in June!”
Also on July 16, another post addressed rising violence against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents: “Violence against ICE agents continues to increase—reaching an all-time high of 830%. As ICE fights to keep our communities safe, radical leftists are target them, not with peaceful protest but with violence. America voted for safer communities, and the mission will NOT be”.
Wesley Hunt was born in Houston in 1981 and currently resides there. His statements come amid ongoing debates over U.S. immigration enforcement practices and border security policies.
