Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office posted a series of tweets in August 2025 highlighting law enforcement efforts against fentanyl trafficking and violent crime, as well as expressing support for President Trump’s approach to public safety.

On August 8, 2025, the press office stated: “ICE obtained 20 kg of fentanyl off the streets that could kill 10 million Americans.

Yet assaults against Federal officers have increased to 1000%. ICE is working to clean out the country of crime and protect Americans.

Violence against ICE is unacceptable.”

Three days later, on August 11, another tweet read: “It’s Liberation Day in D.C. President Trump is fighting to restore law and order in our nation’s capital.

The days of violent criminals running free are over. This administration is determined to keep Americans safe!”

Later that same day, the press office added: “Under the Biden Admin over 260,000 Americans died from fentanyl poisoning—1300 deaths per week.

In 2022 the Cartels were earning approximately $13 billion from smuggling drugs and humans.

President Trump is cracking down on crime and ensuring National Security.”

Wesley Hunt has served in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’s 38th District since 2023. He was born in Houston, Texas in 1981 and continues to reside there. In recent elections, Hunt won re-election by significant margins, defeating Melissa McDonough in 2024 with nearly 63% of the vote and Duncan Klussmann in 2022 with a similar share.
