Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office posted a series of tweets on August 12, 2025, highlighting economic growth, border security measures, and increased law enforcement activity under the Trump administration.

In a tweet from August 12, 2025, the press office stated: “Under this administration, there is positive economic growth as the new CPI report once again beat market expectations. Egg prices have fallen 20% Wages have gone UP 1.3% Trump is working to put more money in Americans’ pockets.”

Later that day, another post emphasized recent data from Customs and Border Protection: “CBP releases new numbers showing that our country has experienced the lowest daily apprehensions in history. For the 3rd straight month in a row there have been NO illegal immigrants released into the U.S. Under President Trump, our country has the most secure border EVER!”

A third tweet cited Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) statistics for Houston: “In the first 6 months of the Trump administration, ICE Houston arrested 356 gang members. This is a 375% increase from Biden’s 75 arrests. Of these 356 gang members 1,685 crimes have been committed—including sex crimes, theft, and murder. ICE is keeping crime off our streets!” This message underscored an increase in arrests compared to previous periods.

Wesley Hunt has served as U.S. Representative for Texas’s 38th District since 2023 after winning elections in both 2022 and 2024 by significant margins against Duncan Klussmann and Melissa McDonough respectively. Born in Houston in 1981, Hunt continues to reside there while representing his district.
