Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office has posted a series of tweets highlighting concerns over traffic safety and crime, focusing on policies related to undocumented immigrants and statements by public officials.

On August 27, 2025, the account stated, “DHS releases data showing that in this month alone there have been 6 deadly crashes involving illegal immigrants. 19 States across the U.S. allow illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses. This is unacceptable and puts Americans in danger.”

Later the same day, the office provided additional details about state policies: “Let’s list them all. The 19 states that allow illegal aliens to have drivers licenses: California Colorado Connecticut Delaware Hawaii Illinois Maryland Massachusetts Minnesota Nevada New Jersey New Mexico New York Oregon Rhode Island Utah Vermont Virginia Washington”.

In a subsequent tweet posted on August 27, 2025, the account commented on remarks made by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass regarding national crime policy: “LA Mayor Karen Bass decided to jump on CNN weighing in on Trump’s crackdown on crime. FMR Chicago police superintendent tells Mayor Bass she should worry about her own city seeing as VERY recently LA had massive riots. Dems don’t care about crime, they care about stopping”.

Wesley Hunt serves as a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 38th District since 2023 and resides in Houston, Texas. He was born in Houston in 1981 and has won recent elections against Melissa McDonough in 2024 with nearly 63% of the vote and Duncan Klussmann in 2022 with a similar margin.
