Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office published a series of posts in August 2025 focusing on immigration enforcement, crime rates, and political responses to law enforcement activities.

On August 15, 2025, the press office posted comparative statistics about border encounters under two U.S. presidents: “Southwest Border encounters: Joe Biden: 8.8 MILLION Donald Trump: 64,334 As ICE ramps up its deportation operations Border Patrol expects tens of thousands will self-deport and come back the right way. This is in addition to the 1.6 million that have already self-deported!”

Later that day, another post addressed criticisms from California officials regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities near political events: “Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom politicize ICE operations claiming that President Trump is purposely placing ICE agents outside political events. Meanwhile, ICE arrests another TDA member who was in the area. As Dems defend criminals from podiums—ICE arrests them!”

On August 18, 2025, the account compared murder rates in Washington D.C. with other major cities worldwide while responding to claims about public safety policies: “Dems want people to think that DC is this utopian crime-free city and that President Trump’s order for law and order is unprecedented. This is the reality: 2024 murder rate- DC: 27.54 Columbia: 15.1 Mexico City: 10.6 Pakistan: 9.2 Lima, Peru: 7.6”

Wesley Hunt has represented Texas’s 38th District in Congress since 2023 after winning elections against Duncan Klussmann in 2022 and Melissa McDonough in 2024 by significant margins (63% and nearly 63%, respectively). Born in Houston in 1981, Hunt continues to reside there as he serves his district.
