Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office, representing Texas’s 38th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, posted a series of tweets on August 14, 2025, addressing crime and public safety in Washington D.C., as well as expressing support for former President Donald Trump.

On August 14, Rep. Hunt’s press office stated: “In D.C., grieving families of violent crime victims are speaking out! While Democrats push the false narrative that crime is at a ’30-year low, heartbroken parents tell a different truth: the unbearable reality of laying their child to rest because Democrat leaders refused to” (August 14, 2025).

Later that day, another tweet read: “Mob of juveniles ransacks DC convenience store. This is the city that Democrats claim is safe. Yet residents living and owning businesses in our nation’s capital recognize the need for law enforcement. Dems would rather stand up for criminals than Americans. Disgusting.” (August 14, 2025).

The third post shifted focus to national politics and foreign policy: “President Trump is the Negotiator in Chief. He is the peace President and he is determined to stop the killing. Trump has put a stop to 6 wars so far and he will not stop there. He will end the war that Joe Biden allowed to happen. Peace will be achieved! Trust in Trump.” (August 14, 2025).

Wesley Hunt was born in Houston, Texas in 1981 and continues to reside there at age 41. He won his congressional seat by defeating Duncan Klussmann in the general election of 2022 with approximately 63% of the vote and was re-elected in 2024 against Melissa McDonough with nearly 63% again.
