Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office shared a series of posts on X in August 2025 addressing recent federal policy changes, an investigation into a fatal incident involving an undocumented immigrant, and the outcome of a high-profile court case.

On August 20, 2025, the press office stated: “President Trump tosses out Biden-era spending policies at Universities. Federal funds can no longer be used for political activism on college campuses. Universities are directed to use federal dollars to teach students how to navigate real world experiences through work study”. The post referenced new directives under President Trump’s administration regarding the allocation of federal funding at universities.

Later that day, another post addressed an ongoing investigation: “Trump administration probes illegal immigrant who killed 3 in Florida. DOT reveals that the driver obtained drivers licenses in California and Washington despite having failed his English and road signs test. This is unacceptable.” The tweet described actions taken by federal authorities after a fatal crash involving an undocumented immigrant.

On August 21, 2025, Rep. Hunt’s office commented on legal proceedings involving former President Trump: “New York appeals court tosses out Trump’s civil court case filed by Letitia James. The New York Attorney General attempted to weaponize the judicial system against an American President and their greatest political rival. They FAILED. The Biden-era tradition of weaponizing”. The statement followed news about a New York appeals court dismissing a civil case brought by Attorney General Letitia James.

Wesley Hunt has represented Texas’s 38th District in Congress since 2023 and resides in Houston, Texas.
He was born in Houston in 1981 and is currently 41 years old.
In recent elections, he won re-election against Melissa McDonough in 2024 with nearly 63% of the vote, and previously defeated Duncan Klussmann in 2022 with a similar margin.
