Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office posted a series of tweets between September 1 and September 2, 2025, addressing topics including Labor Day, violence in Chicago, and southern border security.
On September 1, the office marked the national holiday with a message: “Happy Labor Day!
Today we honor the American worker, the hands and hearts that built our prosperity and keep our nation strong. You make America the greatest nation in the world.”
The following day, attention shifted to public safety concerns in Chicago. The press office wrote on September 2: “Over the Holiday weekend, Chicago experienced dozens of shootings 7 of which were fatal.
Chicago officials respond by pushing back against federal enforcement saying local law enforcement will not cooperate.”
Later that day, Rep. Hunt’s account commented on border security statistics and policy actions: “Southern Border encounters dropped from 104,100 in July 2024 to 7,832 in July 2025.
President Trump is taking the fight to the cartels. He is stopping the illegal flow of fentanyl costing the cartels billions of dollars. Cartels are being dissolved and crime is being dismantled.”
Wesley Hunt has served as U.S. Representative for Texas’s 38th District since 2023 after winning elections in both 2022 and 2024.
In those contests he defeated Duncan Klussmann (2022) and Melissa McDonough (2024), securing more than sixty percent of votes each time.
Born in Houston in 1981, Hunt continues to reside there while serving his district.
