Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office shared several posts on September 9, 2025, addressing recent law enforcement actions in Chicago and reactions to federal crime intervention efforts.

In a post from the morning of September 9, the office stated: “ICE has launched Operation Midway Blitz in Chicago. One of their first arrests: a Mexican man convicted of child sex crimes. However, the Chicago Mayor continues to oppose ICE operations targeting criminals.”

Later that day, another message highlighted comments by a television host regarding federal involvement in Illinois: “Joe Scarborough praises President Trump for offering crime assistance to Illinois and urges the Chicago Mayor to THANK Trump for offering the help that residents need. MSNBC recognizes crime as an issue—why can’t Democrat officials?”

A third post featured criticism of media coverage related to immigration enforcement: “Tom Homan slams MSNBC for framing the intentions of ICE as going after churchgoers. That is not the case, ICE is capturing criminals. PERIOD.”

Wesley Hunt has represented Texas’s 38th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, following his victory over Duncan Klussmann in 2022 and Melissa McDonough in 2024 ([source](https://ballotpedia.org/Wesley_Hunt)). Born in Houston in 1981, Hunt currently resides there.
