Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office commented on recent political and legal developments in a series of posts on September 26, 2025. The tweets addressed the arrests of current and former U.S. presidents, new regulations for commercial driver’s licenses, and reactions to indictments against political figures.
In a post from September 26, 2025, the office stated: “They arrested a former and current President of the United States in an attempt to eliminate him as a political opponent. Now, as justice is being served against someone who lied under oath, they dismiss it and frame the situation as weaponization. This is not weaponization;”
Later that day, another tweet referenced legislative action related to commercial driver’s licenses: “Sean Duffy is taking action. Illegal immigrants will no longer be able to obtain a CDL license unless they meet new standards. This comes after multiple accidents involving illegals that have put Americans at risk.” (September 26, 2025)
A third post from the same date commented on legal proceedings involving political opponents: “The Radical left is targeting their political opponents, and now they are trying to label this new indictment as an act of retribution. The only clear message should be: If you break the law, there will be consequences.”
Wesley Hunt has represented Texas’s 38th District in Congress since 2023. He was born in Houston in 1981 and continues to reside there. In previous elections, Hunt won his seat by significant margins; he defeated Melissa McDonough in the 2024 general election with nearly 63% of the vote and Duncan Klussmann in 2022 with a similar percentage.
