Hunt has been active in Texas politics for several years. He was born in Houston in 1981 and continues to reside there. In recent elections he secured victories over Melissa McDonough in 2024 with approximately 63% of votes (214 to 126) and Duncan Klussmann in 2022 with a similar margin (162 to 91).
