Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office commented on recent national events in a series of posts published between September 17 and 18, 2025. The statements addressed economic developments, a law enforcement tragedy in Pennsylvania, and a new federal designation regarding antifa.
On September 17, the account noted the Federal Reserve’s decision to lower interest rates under President Trump’s administration: “Feds deliver 1st rate cut of this Trump administration and the stock markets are soaring.”
The following day, the press office expressed condolences after an incident involving Pennsylvania police officers: “Five Pennsylvania officers were shot while serving a warrant. Two are still fighting for their lives.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those involved in this horrific tragedy. May God be with the injured, their friends, and their families.” This post came amid ongoing concerns about violence against law enforcement across the country.
Later on September 18, another post referenced presidential action against antifa: “Trump is tired of the ongoing violence and has officially designated antifa as a terrorist organization.
The violent rhetoric that has been plaguing this country needs to stop. There is no place for this kind of hatred in America.”
Wesley Hunt has represented Texas’s 38th District in Congress since 2023. He was born in Houston in 1981 and continues to reside there. Hunt won his seat by defeating Melissa McDonough in the 2024 general election with nearly 63% of the vote, following an earlier victory over Duncan Klussmann in 2022.
