Rep. Wesley Hunt’s Press Office highlighted law enforcement efforts and political commentary on crime in a series of posts on September 4, 2025. The tweets addressed recent arrests in Washington D.C., bipartisan concerns about crime, and ongoing anti-human trafficking initiatives.
On September 4, the Press Office stated, “Wednesday night law enforcement arrested more than 80 criminals off the streets of Washington D.C. Among those arrested are murderers, sex offenders, and drug dealers. Thank you to all the brave men and women who are working tirelessly protecting Americans!”
Later that day, another post referenced criticism within the Democratic Party: “FMR DNC Pres. Sec annihilated his Dem colleagues asking, ‘How much losing do we have to do before we get our act together?’ He commends Trump and says his fast actions against crime give him much pride. Crime doesn’t discriminate—It doesn’t matter if you’re red or blue.”
A third tweet focused on human trafficking in Houston: “Houston is one of the most active human trafficking hubs in the United States. President Trump and his administration have been working diligently to dismantle human trafficking operations. They will not stop until this crisis is averted. This is of the utmost importance.”
Wesley Hunt has served as U.S. Representative for Texas’s 38th District since 2023 after winning elections in both 2022 and 2024 by significant margins over Duncan Klussmann and Melissa McDonough respectively. Born in Houston in 1981, Hunt continues to reside there while representing his district.
