Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office, representing U.S. Congressman Wesley Hunt of Texas’s 38th District, published a series of posts on October 1, 2025, addressing protests in Chicago, an attack on ICE agents in Dallas, and the ongoing government shutdown debate.
In a post at 14:56 UTC, the office reported: “Major street SHUT DOWN in Chicago as hundreds flood the streets protesting ICE. ICE arrested nearly 800 illegal aliens, including pedophiles convicted of child rape & murder, confirmed TDA gang members, and violent felons armed with guns. The WORST of the WORST.”
Later that day at 16:10 UTC, another update was provided regarding an incident targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Dallas: “UPDATE: Individual responsible for targeting ICE agents at a Dallas facility prepared for months. He used an app to track ICE agents and plan the attack. No ICE agents were injured, but 2 detainees were killed.”
Addressing federal budget negotiations at 17:39 UTC, Rep. Hunt’s office commented on the narrative surrounding a potential government shutdown: “How can it be a Republican shutdown when almost every Republican official voted to keep the government open? This is not a Republican led shutdown it’s a Schumer Shutdown and the Democrats know that.”
Wesley Hunt has served as U.S. Representative for Texas’s 38th District since 2023. He was born in Houston in 1981 and continues to reside there. In previous elections, Hunt secured victories over Duncan Klussmann in 2022 and Melissa McDonough in 2024.
