Rep. Wesley Hunt’s press office published a series of posts on August 18, 2025, highlighting law enforcement actions at the U.S. border and commenting on former President Donald Trump’s foreign policy approach.
In a post dated August 18, 2025, the press office stated: “A Houston man was charged with attempting to smuggle 40 illegal immigrants into the United States. 26 of these illegal immigrants had been previously deported. Thanks to our brave CBP officers this attempted human smuggling operation was stopped and the criminal is in custody.” The tweet referenced the role of Customs and Border Protection officers in stopping the incident.

Later that afternoon, Rep. Hunt’s press office posted about former President Trump’s efforts regarding international conflict: “President Trump is the peace President. He is determined to stop the killing and save lives. He is our negotiator-in-chief and will not stop until there is a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.”
Wesley Hunt has represented Texas’s 38th District in Congress since 2023 after winning elections in both 2022 and 2024 by significant margins against Duncan Klussmann and Melissa McDonough, respectively. Hunt, who was born in Houston in 1981 and continues to reside there, regularly uses his social media platforms to comment on immigration enforcement issues as well as national security and foreign policy matters.
