Rep. Wesley Hunt’s Press Office recently shared a series of tweets addressing issues involving political figures and legal decisions. As a representative for Texas’s 38th District since 2023, Hunt’s statements often reflect his views on national and local governance matters.
On June 11, 2025, the Press Office commented on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s response to civil unrest in his city. According to the tweet, “Gavin Newsom takes to the stage, but instead of condemning the rioters destroying his city he condemns the Trump administration for their deportation operations!”
Later that day, another tweet addressed a judicial decision impacting Los Angeles. The post stated that a judge had blocked an attempt by Newsom to prevent federal intervention in restoring order in the city. The tweet asserted that “It is well within the jurisdiction of this administration to stop rioters from destroying cities.”
In a separate matter, Rep. Hunt’s office also tweeted about a criminal sentencing involving an individual described as a “TDA gangbanger.” This person was sentenced to 28 years for shooting two police officers. The tweet criticized policies under previous administrations, noting that “Not only did he benefit under the Biden administration who let him in our country but now the taxpayer will pay for his room and board for years.”
Wesley Hunt was born in Houston, Texas in 1981 and currently resides there at age 41.
