Rep. Wesley Hunt, serving Texas’s 38th District since 2023, shared several statements on social media addressing significant national events. His posts highlight recent developments in immigration enforcement, antisemitic violence, and transgender participation in sports.
On June 2, 2025, Rep. Hunt reported that “During the month of May I.C.E conducted the largestest deportation mission in this nations history,” detailing 1,461 arrests, with 790 individuals having criminal convictions and 277 with final orders of removal.
Later that day, he commented on two recent antisemitic terror attacks within a month. He noted that these incidents have left Jewish Americans harmed and expressed concern over the phrase “FREE PALESTINE” being used as a slogan for hatred at both scenes: “In the span of just one month…”
Additionally, Rep. Hunt criticized certain states’ policies regarding transgender athletes in sports competitions. He highlighted an incident where a transgender student won two first-place medals at a high school women’s track and field championship in California: “Transgender student takes home TWO first-place medals…” According to him, this action violates President Trump’s executive order banning transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports.
Wesley Hunt was born in Houston, Texas in 1981 and currently resides there.
