Rep. Dan Crenshaw, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Texas’ 2nd district since 2019, recently shared his views on various legislative matters through a series of tweets. Crenshaw, born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1984 and now residing in Humble, has been vocal about specific provisions and political strategies that align with his legislative priorities.
On May 14, 2025, Crenshaw expressed pride in a provision he championed within a bill which ends taxpayer-funded irreversible “gender transitions” for minors. He noted that there would be no more Medicaid, CHIP, or ACA funding for these procedures and highlighted that “no one even tried to strip it out”.
The following day, May 15, 2025, Crenshaw tweeted about the political landscape surrounding the protection of children from what he described as “the radical trans agenda.” He asserted that this issue has become mainstream and claimed that “the Left knows it’s a political liability”. He thanked Ben Shapiro for highlighting this issue.
Later on May 15th, Crenshaw mentioned his involvement with energy provisions included in President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill.” According to him, these provisions aim to expedite reviews for energy projects which will lead to faster approvals resulting in more jobs and investments. He emphasized this as a significant benefit for Houston and American energy dominance by stating “huge win for Houston and American energy dominance!”.
Crenshaw’s contributions are part of ongoing efforts reflecting his commitment to certain policy areas during his tenure as a congressman since replacing Ted Poe in 2019 after graduating from Tufts University with a BA in 2006.
