Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 2nd district, shared his views on economic policies and their impacts in a series of tweets. Known for his critical stance on certain state policies, Crenshaw’s remarks highlight differences between Texas and California regarding economic strategies.

On March 24, 2025, Crenshaw praised Texas for its economic approach. He stated, “Texas, meanwhile, kept taxes low, kept regulations in check, and created an environment where job creators, especially small businesses, could actually build, hire, and grow. This wasn’t luck. It was intentional—and it’s working.” His comments reflect support for policies that foster business growth through minimal taxation and regulation.

In contrast to Texas’ approach, Crenshaw criticized California’s economic policies in another tweet from the same date. He noted several points of contention: “The policies couldn’t be more different: – California raised minimum wages aggressively – Let trial lawyers weaponize labor laws – Has one of the most punishing tax codes in America – Regulatory red tape that drives up costs for everyone Those choices have consequences.” His critique underscores a belief that such measures may hinder economic growth.

Furthermore, Crenshaw shared a media clip urging Californians relocating to Texas to remember their reasons for leaving. On March 24th he tweeted: “This clip from @RealTimers is worth the watch. If you’re one of the many Americans leaving California for Texas—welcome. Just don’t forget why you left.” The message suggests that policy differences influence migration trends between states.
