Rep. Dan Crenshaw, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 2nd district since 2019, posted a series of tweets on February 10, 2026, announcing the introduction of new legislation and expressing his views on gender transition procedures for minors.

In a tweet published at 16:31 UTC on February 10, Crenshaw stated, “Some states protect kids. Others exploit them. That’s why, today, I introduced the Stop Gender Trafficking of Minors Act. It will put a complete stop to the abuse of children through interstate trafficking of minors to receive life-altering and destructive gender transition”. Later that evening at 21:03 UTC, Crenshaw shared another message regarding medical professionals involved in gender transition care for minors: “This isn’t a doctor. It’s an executioner in a lab coat. His only credential is moral bankruptcy. Medicine is supposed to protect life, not rationalize harm.”

Crenshaw has served as the representative for Texas’s 2nd Congressional District since replacing Ted Poe in 2019 and has won multiple re-election campaigns by significant margins—defeating Peter Filler in 2024 with over 65% of the vote; Robin Fulford in 2022 with nearly the same percentage; Sima Ladjevardian in 2020; and Todd Litton in his initial race in 2018.

The “Stop Gender Trafficking of Minors Act,” as referenced by Crenshaw, is part of ongoing national debates concerning transgender healthcare access for minors and state-level variations in related laws.
