Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 2nd district since 2019, recently posted several comments on his Twitter account addressing White House renovations, intelligence legislation, and media personalities.

On March 18, 2026, Crenshaw commented on the idea of renovating the White House with a satirical tone: “I can’t believe anyone would be considering a renovation to the White House. Totally unprecedented. Totally. *this is satire. I realize many people need to hear that directly. SARCASM*”

The following day, March 19, 2026, he discussed congressional action regarding intelligence gathering authorities: “Two years ago, Congress almost left the county with a huge intelligence gap for no good reason. Lives would have been lost had we not reauthorozed FISA. The violent cartel leader “El Mencho” would still be alive if we had not reauthorized FISA and passed my provision to target”

Later that same day, Crenshaw criticized media figure Tucker Carlson’s interactions with foreign officials: “Tucker likes to have friendly conversations with bad people. When he realizes that he’s talking to Iranian intelligence officials that we already collect on, he pretends to be a victim of “spying.” He’s an idiot, and he thinks you’re an idiot too. You always need a warrant to”

Crenshaw has consistently secured his seat in Congress since first being elected in 2018 after replacing Ted Poe as representative for Texas’ 2nd district.
He won re-election in subsequent cycles: defeating Todd Litton in 2018 (52.8% to 45.6%), Sima Ladjevardian in 2020 (55.6% to 42.8%), Robin Fulford in 2022 (65.9% to 34%), and Peter Filler in 2024 (65.7% to 34.3%).
