Congressman Morgan Luttrell, who represents Texas’ 8th district in the U.S. Congress, has been actively sharing his thoughts and condolences on social media regarding the recent severe weather events affecting Texas. Luttrell, a native of Houston and a graduate of Sam Houston State University, took to Twitter to express gratitude towards those involved in search and rescue operations and offered comfort to affected families.
On July 9, 2025, Luttrell acknowledged the bravery of search and rescue teams working amid challenging conditions. He stated: “Our search and rescue teams are putting their lives on the line for their fellow Texans.” He concluded by wishing blessings upon these individuals for their courageous efforts.
The following day, July 10, he addressed the loss experienced by local communities due to flooding. He wrote: “Our local Houston area mourns the loss of our neighbors and community members taken by these floods.” In this message, he expressed hopes that families would find strength during their time of grief.
Later that day, Luttrell commented on both the devastation caused by the floods and the solidarity shown among Texans. His tweet read: “We’re seeing the worst thing, but also the best of humanity.” He praised community support as a reminder of collective resilience and extended his gratitude for their ongoing efforts.
Morgan Luttrell has served in Congress since replacing Kevin Brady in 2023. At 47 years old, he continues to reside in Magnolia while serving his district.
