Congressman Morgan Luttrell, who has been serving Texas’ 8th district since 2023, recently took to social media to share updates on various topics of interest. Representing his constituents, Luttrell highlighted significant events and expressed his support for law enforcement and the arts.
On May 12, 2025, Congressman Luttrell announced the release of Edan Alexander from Hamas captivity after more than 580 days. He attributed this outcome to “President Trump’s strong leadership” and expressed joy for Alexander’s return home.
The following day, May 13, Luttrell commemorated Police Week by honoring law enforcement officers. In a tweet, he emphasized his commitment as a veteran and father to supporting those who protect communities. He stated that “I will always back the blue”.
Later that day, Congressman Luttrell announced the winners of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for Texas’ 8th district. Congratulating participants via social media, he highlighted Denise Pepito’s artwork titled “Bayou, By Me” which secured first place in the competition. The announcement celebrated artistic talent within his constituency with “Congratulations to #TX08’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners”.
Morgan Luttrell was born in Houston in 1975 and currently resides in Magnolia. A graduate of Sam Houston State University with a BS degree earned in 2000, he succeeded Kevin Brady in Congress.
