Congressman Morgan Luttrell, who has represented his district since winning the 2022 and 2024 general elections, recently posted a series of messages on his social media account reflecting on national observances and policy positions.

On August 7, 2025, Luttrell recognized Purple Heart Day by stating, “Today marks Purple Heart Day — where we honor those who have been wounded or killed in the line of duty. May God bless them and their families for their sacrifice to our country.”

The following day, August 8, he shared a brief statement about national policy priorities: “America First works. Open borders don’t.”

Morgan Luttrell was first elected to Congress in 2022 after defeating Laura Jones with 68.1% of the vote. He secured re-election in 2024 against the same opponent, increasing his share slightly to 68.2%.
