Two days later, on December 9, 2024, Luttrell shared insights from his participation in the Reagan National Defense Forum. He expressed satisfaction with discussions held alongside Chairman Mike Rogers of the House Armed Services Committee. The Congressman noted: “I had a great weekend at the Reagan National Defense Forum with @HASCRepublicans Chairman @RepMikeRogersAL. We met with military leaders, civilian officials, and industry experts to talk about what it’s going to take to keep our national defense strong.”

On December 10, 2024, Luttrell endorsed Pete Hegseth for his new role as Secretary of Defense. In his tweet praising Hegseth’s capabilities and patriotism, he remarked: “.@PeteHegseth is an outstanding patriot and a great American. He will do an amazing job as Secretary of Defense!”
