Congressman Morgan Luttrell, a representative of Texas’ 8th district since 2023, has been vocal on social media about current policies and initiatives. In his recent posts, Luttrell has shared his views on border security, military modernization, and educational engagements.
On April 28, 2025, Luttrell highlighted the effectiveness of previous administration policies regarding border security. He posted, “The numbers don’t lie: Illegal crossings 95% Gotaways 90% Daily apprehensions lowest in history Trump’s common-sense policies work. Biden’s chaos failed.”
Later that day, Luttrell shared insights into a new reconciliation proposal supported by the House Armed Services Committee Republicans. He commented, “The @HASCRepublicans reconciliation proposal is a historic investment in President Trump’s Peace through Strength agenda $150 billion to: modernize our military secure our border restore American deterrence support the warfighter.”
On April 29, 2025, Luttrell expressed appreciation for an educational event held at the Pentagon. Discussing this on social media, he stated, “Yesterday, I had the privilege of joining @SecDef in leading students and faculty from Sam Houston State University’s Computer Science and Criminal Justice departments on a tour of the Pentagon.” Luttrell, who graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2000, maintains ties with his alma mater by engaging with current students.
Luttrell replaced former U.S. Congress member Kevin Brady in 2023. Aged 47, he was born in Houston, Texas. He currently resides in Magnolia and holds a bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University.
