U.S. Congressman Morgan Luttrell, who represents Texas’ 8th district, posted a series of updates on social media addressing the aftermath of the Texas floods and recent legislative developments.
On July 15, 2025, Luttrell acknowledged the efforts of first responders following severe flooding in Camp Mystic and surrounding areas: “It’s been 11 days since the Texas floods devastated Camp Mystic and the surrounding areas. Since day 1, our first responders have been on the ground saving lives and supporting our communities. We can’t thank them enough.” Later that same day, he added a brief message: “May God bless them.”
On July 16, Luttrell shifted focus to national security and health issues in another post: ” Multiple provisions to enhance cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology tools for the DoD. Authorizing funding for research and clinical trials for post-traumatic stress disorder and TBI treatments.”
Morgan Luttrell has served as U.S. Representative for Texas’s 8th District since replacing Kevin Brady in 2023. Born in Houston in 1975, Luttrell currently resides in Magnolia and is an alumnus of Sam Houston State University.
