Congressman Morgan Luttrell, who represents Texas’ 8th district in the U.S. Congress, shared several updates on his official social media account on July 16, 2025.

In a post at 14:26 UTC, Luttrell highlighted recent legislative provisions: ” A provision to prevent the deactivation of the 1-158th Army Reserve unit in Conroe without a continuity plan for soldiers and capabilities. Language to support the domestic production of critical minerals to decrease U.S. reliance on China.” The tweet outlined efforts to maintain military readiness and reduce dependency on foreign mineral supplies.

Later that day, at 19:32 UTC, Luttrell posted about border security initiatives, stating: “Border security is no longer just a promise — it’s reality. https://t.co/2019NkFIOn”

Morgan Luttrell began serving as the representative for Texas’s 8th District in 2023 after succeeding Kevin Brady. Born in Houston in 1975 and currently residing in Magnolia, Luttrell graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000.
