U.S. Congressman Morgan Luttrell, who represents Texas’s 8th district, recently highlighted legislative efforts for veterans and concerns over border security in a series of posts on his official social media account.

On July 23, Luttrell posted about legislative activity in the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs: “Progress for our veterans → 25 bills currently being marked up in @HouseVetAffairs. We must do right by those who served our nation.”

The following day, he provided an update from Washington, D.C., stating: “My recap from Washington— Fighting for our veterans Passing legislation for our service members Remembering those lost in Kerrville Looking forward to seeing everyone back in Texas.” The message referenced ongoing support for military personnel and remembrance of individuals lost in Kerrville.

On July 25, Luttrell addressed issues related to unaccompanied minors at the U.S. border and criminal activity among sponsors. He wrote: “13,061 unaccompanied minors found. 442 sponsors arrested for child abuse and other crimes. Biden’s open border created this crisis. Our local and federal agencies are fixing it.”

Morgan Luttrell has served as the U.S. Representative for Texas’s 8th District since replacing Kevin Brady in 2023. Born in Houston in 1975, Luttrell resides in Magnolia and is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
