Congressman Morgan Luttrell, who represents Texas’ 8th district and has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently shared his views on several legislative initiatives via social media. Luttrell, born in Houston in 1975 and currently residing in Magnolia, highlighted efforts to address issues affecting veterans.
On May 6, 2025, Congressman Luttrell expressed concern over the health challenges faced by aircrew veterans. He stated, “Too many of our nation’s aircrew veterans are facing rare and aggressive cancers, and we don’t have enough answers.” He voiced support for Representative Pfluger’s ACES Act, aimed at gathering necessary data to protect these veterans.
Later that day, Luttrell tweeted about a hearing with the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. On May 6, he noted that they were marking up significant legislation including the Veterans Second Amendment Protection Act and other bills such as the Veterans National Traumatic Brain Injury Act and Modernizing the Veterans On-Campus Experience Act. His tweet read: “.@HouseVetAffairs hearing has started! We’re marking up several important pieces of legislation…”
On May 7, Luttrell emphasized his commitment to protecting veterans’ rights through legislative action. He stated his leadership role in advancing the Veterans Second Amendment Protection Act with a post reading: “No VA bureaucrat should be able to take away a veteran’s Second Amendment rights without due process.”
Morgan Luttrell is an alumnus of Sam Houston State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000.
