Congressman Morgan Luttrell, representing Texas’ 8th district, shared several updates on his recent activities and initiatives through social media. Luttrell, who succeeded Kevin Brady in 2023, has been actively involved in discussions concerning veterans’ affairs, community outreach, and border security.
On May 15, 2025, Congressman Luttrell addressed the need for a seamless transition for service members to civilian life during a House Veterans Affairs hearing. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense by stating “At our @HouseVetAffairs hearing today, I asked @SecVetAffairs to engage with @SecDef on establishing a seamless transition from the Services to life after as a veteran. It could save lives.”
The following day, May 16, 2025, he highlighted his district staff’s participation in an event aimed at supporting local communities. His tweet read: “My district staff participated in the City of Houston Bridges Conference, helping connect seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities to the resources and opportunities available to them in our district.”
Later that day, Luttrell expressed his views on border security via an op-ed featured in the Washington Examiner. He remarked on Twitter: “The border wall isn’t just concrete and steel. It’s a message: the U.S. is not open for cartel business & illegal immigration.” The congressman advocated for increased personnel and technology deployment along the border.
Morgan Luttrell was born in Houston in 1975 and resides in Magnolia. He graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000.
