Congressman Morgan Luttrell, who represents Texas’s 8th congressional district, recently addressed issues of veteran suicide, offered support to a public figure, and commemorated the anniversary of September 11 in a series of posts on social media.
On September 10, 2025, Luttrell marked World Suicide Prevention Day by drawing attention to the ongoing crisis among veterans. He wrote, “One veteran dies by suicide every 85 minutes. On World Suicide Prevention Day, let’s reaffirm our commitment to those struggling and work towards addressing this crisis for our veterans.”
Later that day, he posted a message of support for Charlie Kirk and his family: “Please join me in praying for Charlie Kirk and his family.”
On September 11, 2025, Luttrell reflected on the impact of the terrorist attacks that occurred twenty-four years earlier. He stated, “24 years ago, the tragic events of September 11, 2001, changed the world forever and claimed the lives of 2,977 people. May we always remember those we lost, honor those who answered the call, and never forget this solemn moment in our nation’s history.”
Morgan Luttrell has served as U.S. Representative since defeating Laura Jones in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections. In these contests he secured approximately two-thirds of the vote each time—68.1% in 2022 and 68.2% in 2024—demonstrating consistent electoral support within his district.
