Congressman Morgan Luttrell, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 8th district since 2023, recently shared a series of tweets covering various topics from Independence Day celebrations to natural disasters and veteran appreciation.

On July 4, 2025, Congressman Luttrell tweeted “Today’s the Fourth of July. Happy birthday, America! Hope everyone is having a very blessed day. Here’s this week’s recap https://t.co/fMwTw9njg9”. This message marked the celebration of America’s Independence Day with well wishes for his constituents.

Later that day, at 23:29 UTC, Luttrell expressed concern over recent flooding in central Texas by tweeting “Praying for all those impacted by the central Texas river floods which claimed the lives of 13 people with at least 20 still missing. Our first responders reacted quickly, and I am thankful for all of their live-saving rescue efforts during this tragedy.” His message acknowledged the loss and commended first responders for their swift action during the disaster.

On July 5, 2025, he highlighted Texas’s significant veteran population with a tweet stating “With 1.4 million veterans, Texas has one of the largest veteran populations in the nation. Each has served and protected the very freedoms we celebrate this Independence Day weekend. May we honor their service and sacrifice for all Americans.” This tweet underscored his recognition of veterans’ contributions to American freedoms celebrated during the holiday weekend.

Morgan Luttrell was born in Houston, Texas in 1975 and currently resides in Magnolia. He graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
