Congressman Morgan Luttrell has addressed the ongoing federal government shutdown in a series of social media posts, outlining his perspective on recent legislative actions and the status of constituent services.

On October 1, 2025, Luttrell commented on the initial hours of the shutdown, stating, “The federal government has been shut down for less than 24 hours, with false narratives and heightened rhetoric already taking precedence over the real facts of the situation. You deserve the truth — and here it is: On September 19th, the House passed a clean CR which would”.

The following day, he reassured constituents about continued support from his offices despite the shutdown. On October 2, Luttrell posted, “Despite the federal government shutdown, my offices in Magnolia and DC remain open and ready to serve you. Do not hesitate to reach out for assistance with a federal agency.”

On October 3, Luttrell criticized Democratic lawmakers’ stance on continuing resolutions (CRs), writing, “Democrats voted for 13 clean CRs under the Biden administration. Now they won’t vote for the same CR under President Trump. This isn’t about policy. It’s about politics.”

Morgan Luttrell was re-elected to Congress in both 2022 and 2024 after defeating Laura Jones in each general election by significant margins—68.1% to 30.5% in 2022 and 68.2% to 31.8% in 2024.
